Dorota
Czos, M.A., our DOS of the English Program is a Warsaw University Graduate in the
field of Theoretical and Practical Linguistics. She obtained her teaching
qualifications from the English Department of the Institute of Neophilology.
During her studies, she specialized in phonology/phonetics, philosophy of
language and translation. For over 13 years now she has been teaching English
at all levels of advancement and in all age groups. She taught English also in Sydney,
Australia, where she prepared children and adults from all over the world to
begin their education and/or professional life in the English speaking
environment.
Since
2004 Dorota Czos has been a DOS in bilingual studies, and she started
co-operation with our kindergarten in 2006. In the course of her bilingual studies
DOS career, she has written bilingual education programs for kindergarten and primary school (grades 1 - 3).
She was responsible for the implementation of these programs in two
institutions in Warsaw.
For ‘Mali Odkrywcy/Little Discoverers' Bilingual Kindergarten Dorota Czos has prepared ‘Wielojęzyczny Świat
Przedszkolaka/Multilingual Kindergarten World', the immersion program of
teaching in English.
In the
course of her professional career, Dorota Czos has written a number of
non-standard English courses curricula for children, teenagers and adults.
These courses are rooted in the principle of the natural process of language
acquisition (through drama or projects, among others), or focus on specific
language skills such as pronunciation, or academic writing. In 2006 she became
interested in teaching/learning languages via the Internet.
